Get back to business quickly after a disaster
Failback is a feature of Managed Backups services that allows you to quickly recover your systems to a new physical server in the event of a disaster. To use failback services, simply provide a new server for failback and create a Bare Metal Restore bootable USB. Boot the new server from the USB, and the Managed Backups service will automatically apply updates to the failover virtual machine to the USB image over the network. Once the updates are complete, you can fail back to the new server with just a few clicks.
Agentless and Agent-based Backup
Agentless protection enables fast and easy pairing of any number of VMware systems or templates, making it easy to back up your virtual machines. Agent-based protection provides scalable backup for your physical devices, even if they are remote or have limited resources. This flexibility means that you can choose the backup method that is best for your specific needs, and you can be confident that all of your systems are protected.
Inverse Chain Technology
Managed Backups service eliminates the problem of broken backup chains, which is a common issue that can lead to data loss. With Managed Backups services, you have the freedom to change retention and delete recovery points without resetting the chain or having to take a new base image. This is because each backup is always in a fully constructed state and is a fully bootable virtual machine. This means that you can be confident that you will always have a recent and accessible backup of your data, even if you need to change your backup settings or delete older recovery points.
End-to-end Encryption
Protect your data with AES-256 encryption, both in transit and in the cloud. This is the same encryption standard used by the US government to protect classified information. You also have the option to encrypt your data locally, giving you even more control over your data security. Passphrases can be specified per appliance or per protected machine, so you can tailor your encryption to your specific needs.
Advanced Screenshot Verification
Managed Backups service can test your backups by booting them as virtual machines on the local device and capturing an image of the login page. This gives you visual proof that your data has been successfully backed up, and that your critical applications will boot as well.
NAS and iSCSI
Use the storage appliance to provide either shared file storage or block storage. Shared file storage is a type of storage that can be accessed by multiple users over a network where NFS and CIFS are two common protocols used for shared file storage.
Additionally, block storage is a type of storage that is presented to a server as a block device and is often used for databases and other applications that require high performance.
Backup Insights
Easily identify changes to files and applications between any two backup points, and recover them directly from the interface with minimal information about when or where they were lost. Because all backups are fully constructed, you can simultaneously mount multiple backup points and view all files in an easy-to-read file tree in a matter of seconds. This means that you can quickly and easily find the files and applications you need to recover, even if you don't remember exactly when or where they were lost.
e-Discovery Software
eDiscovery lets you search for keywords in your backup data, emails, and attachments, and review the results in an easy-to-read format. It is powered by the industry-leading Kroll Ontrack software and is compatible with dozens of file formats and systems, including Microsoft Exchange, SharePoint, and SQL. This means that you can use eDiscovery to find important information quickly and easily, even if it is buried in a large amount of data.
